- As a trainee Professional Paul was given a national invite to compete on the Australian PGA Tour.
- He was twice R/up in the Queensland Trainee Championships.
- Paul successfully completed his PGA Traineeship in 1981 at Wynnum Golf Club.
- Once a fully qualified professional Paul played the Queensland and Australian PGA Tours competing in events such as the Australian Masters.
